A boyhood dream comes true thanks to Redyset
7th May 2008
When 9 year old Calumn Tippett entered a competition in MATCH! , his favoured weekly read, he did not dare to hope he'd win once let alone end up with a two-part prize.
Calumn who lives near Dundee has been playing football for 3 years for his local team Monifieth Athletic. Despite playing left back he has scored 1 goal during his career which he describes as his greatest football moment "It was a cracker!" said Calumn.
Now thanks to MATCH! and Redyset, Calumn is able to practice his goal scoring techniques with his very own Home IGOAL, the revolutionary portable goal which was the prize.
Both Calumn and his Dad are life-long footie fanatics and loyal supporters of Dundee. They were therefore delighted when Redyset organised for the prize to be presented by Gordon Smith at Hampden Park where they were able to see bits of Hampden Park that no one else gets to see, even in the visitors tour!
Says Calumn, now 10, "It was brilliant. We had lots of pictures taken beside the pitch, got to see the changing rooms and warm up area and even got invited up to Gordon's office ! We saw the exhibition of the 74 trophies and I got signed pictures of the team and the manager."
Arnot Tippett, Calumn's Dad commented "I think I had as much fun as Calumn. Idd really like to thank the people from IGOAL and also Gordon Smith - he was a real gentleman. His staff made sure that Calumn had a fantastic day and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. This was a real boyhood dream come true and we'll both have memories for life."
So, a name for the Scottish FA to watch for the future? And also great news, keep entering those competitions, you may be the lucky winner next time.
Redyset were only too delighted that the day was successful and that they got to meet the prize winner too. CEO, Peter Rose said "Watch this space for further news of IGOALs as they spread northward and everyone finds out that you can unpack, pump up and play football anytime, anywhere, it really is that easy!"
